Vietnamese Fanners Face the WTO

Looking back one year later, that day proved meaningful to the Vietnamese in general and to farmers in par- ticular. How will Vietnamese farmers, with their water-paddy culture, cope now and in the future when most members of the WTO are devel- oped industrial countries? What is the role of Vietnam’s sociology in this unequal confrontation between Vietnamese farmers and the WTO during increasingly stronger integration? What theoretical basis in sociology and what actual evidence will be applied to solve factual problems?
